Education is a vital tool for increasing understanding and promoting sustainable development two important ingredients for promoting peace in our world.
The FACES Project increases our knowledge and understanding of each other thereby enhancing the prospects for tolerance and harmony among nations and peoples.
There are two aspects to our focus on education:
Educating the General Public
The FACES Project photographic and cinemagraphic documentation of peoples will portray the rich diversity of our world as a collective strength. This material shall be made available for education purpose and promote dialog among people for mutual respect and acceptance. This effort is directly linked , via our FACES Education program, to the United Nation World-Decade for Sustainable Development (2005 to 2014).
The FACES Education program offers workshops for schools, universities and communities, often in partnership with similar on-going initiatives in many communities. Such workshops can provide new insights into the peoples of the world may be helpful for understanding both the cultural diversity and similarities among different groups. The Education Program will often be the first cross-cultural contact for many, leading to a better mutual understanding and creating a bridge across the gap between cultures.
