A computer database will be the central tool to manage the mass of information collected and will serve as the cornerstone of future scholarly efforts to inform the world about all of our neighbors.
One of the most interesting aspects of our early investigations of the world's people groups is that no generally accepted figures exist regarding the actual number of people groups in the world today (although 15,000 - 17,000 is the accepted range). Besides the combination of photo- and video-documentation of all existing peoples living at the beginning of the third millennium, a modern, scientific investigation employing genetic studies, linguistics and ethnology, will produce a comprehensive digital compendium of all the world's peoples.
